Express Yourself Styling (Dress for Success)

How long are Dress for Success appointments?

Styling appointments are approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour long.

 

How many styling appointments can I book?

We currently offer one styling appointment per person, per year.

 

What kind of clothing do you have?

We carry a wide range of styles, including casual, smart casual, and corporate clothing, with options for many different body types and preferences. We also have a great selection of shoes and accessories. 

 

Where does the clothing come from?

Most clothing is generously donated by members of the public and community partners. Items are mostly second-hand, though some brand-new pieces are also donated.

 

Does Mahi Plus support men with dressings as well?

Yes. Men are very welcome to access our styling services. Men and women are booked at separate times to help ensure comfort and privacy.

 

Are transgender and non-binary people welcome at Dress for Success?

Absolutely. Everyone is welcome at MahiPlus. We are committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all people.

 

Is there an age limit for the styling service?

We offer styling support for individuals aged 18 to 85. Young people aged 16–17 may be accepted through established providers or referrals.

 

Do I need to pay?

No. All MahiPlus services are free and appointment-based. Donations are always appreciated and help us continue supporting the community.

MahiPlus - Get Ready for Work Programme & CV Update Service

I live in a rural area — are online appointments available?

Yes. MahiPlus offers online appointments for clients who are unable to attend in person. You must have access to Zoom or Teams video calling. We aim to make our services accessible to everyone across Te Taitokerau.

What services does MahiPlus provide?

MahiPlus provides career and employment support services, including CV preparation, interview coaching, confidence building, professional presentation support, mentoring, and pathways into employment, training, or education. View our Get Ready for Work Programme and CV Update Service.

Who can access MahiPlus support?

MahiPlus supports individuals from a range of backgrounds, including job seekers, rangatahi, wāhine, parents returning to work, and people looking to build confidence or develop career pathways. Preference is given to MSD clients.

How do I book an appointment with MahiPlus?

You can book an appointment by completing the enquiry form on our website or contacting our team directly. Once we receive your enquiry, a team member will be in touch to discuss the best support options for you within 48hrs.

What should I bring to my appointment?

If possible, please bring any relevant documents that may support your appointment, such as your CV, cover letter, identification, qualifications, or information about the roles you are applying for. If you do not have these documents prepared yet, that’s completely okay — our team can help guide you through the process.
